Dovecote Manor in Southport is a beautifully restored substantial building set in secure, mature landscaped gardens, near the sea front and marine lake.

Dovecote Manor offers first class residential care focusing on what the individual can do for themselves and not what they are no longer capable of doing.

Our service users have the benefit of both being encouraged to be as independent as possible whilst enjoying the best of community living but having the security of care staff being in attendance 24 hours a day, offering care as and when requested in an unobtrusive manner.

ACCOMMODATION

Dovecote Manor has been tastefully refurbished- to the highest standard, by our own interior designer. The Manor’s communal areas are stylishly dressed with an exciting mix of fabrics, textures and luxury furnishings. All residential rooms are large and airy, some featuring balcony views overlooking our extensive grounds. Each room has a full en-suite bathroom and television as well as the facility for service users to connect a phone line should they wish to do so. A mini safe in each room gives service users peace of mind for the security of their personal possessions.

The splendour of the house has an exciting collections of textiles and styles encompassing luxurious fabrics for curtains, upholstery and soft furnishings. Service users may relax in the sumptuous surroundings of Dovecote Manor that combine character, history and beauty.

The overall ambience of the home is one of comfort, exclusivity, friendliness and safety, thus promoting peace of mind and a sense of well being.

SERVICES

At Dovecote Manor our service users enjoy the benefit of community living whilst being reassured that there is care available should they require it 24 hours a day. All care is prompted by the service users stated need and offered in a professional unobtrusive manner, whilst maintaining each service users independence, dignity and privacy. Our service users all have individual care plans, designed by themselves in conjunction with the care staff, focusing on what they can do for themselves and not what they can no longer do. Service users who wish to spend time with us do so in a safe and caring environment and are confident in the knowledge that all their personal and social needs will be met in a professional manner.

All service users are encouraged to maintain links with previous friends, societies, groups and churches – assistance is given where required for these contacts to be maintained.

Dovecote Manor is in the enviable position of having a fully equipped gym and coffee shop area. Service users will be encouraged to participate in activities to maintain their mobility and sense of well being. The coffee shop facility will be open for service users to enjoy with their families and friends.

The gardens at Dovecote Manor are stunning. Over 2 acres of grounds set in a mature landscaped manner, well maintained with ample seating for all to enjoy.

Dovecote Manor is proud to offer a high standard of meal preparation to all its service users, a full menu is on offer as well as A La Carte dining for those who choose, including a ‘light bites’ menu that is available all day. Our head chef prepares all meals from fresh produce, and meets with all service users on admission and then weekly to ensure that all dietary needs and requests are being met.

STAFF

Dovecote Manor is owned and run by Mark and Wendi Gilbert along with their son Luke Gilbert. Each member of the family have extensive experience within the care home field and are hands on owners being involved and visiting the home on a daily basis. The Home Manager has overall responsibility for the co-ordination of the various teams who work within the care home and staff who are experienced and highly trained.

They all have either an NVQ in care or are working towards one, as well as having additional courses appertaining to the care of the elderly. All senior carers are also key workers responsible especially for a small group of service users ensuring that the optimum level of care is achieved along with the small personal touches that gives Dovecote Manor that home from home feel. Our catering team are valued members of the home team, that maintain a high standard of meal preparation taking into account individual taste and the medical needs of all service users.

Our menus are regularly reviewed and change made in accordance to feedback received from service users and their families. Our head chef meets with all service users on admission and then weekly to ensure that the high standard is maintained. The remaining support staff consists of our valued domestics, laundry and maintenance staff, who ensure that all the home is clean, free from unpleasant odours, personal laundry is under control and the environment of the home is welcoming and well maintained.
